Head of Compliance and MLRO

My client is a global Margin FX and CFD brokerage located in the financial city of London.

They are actively looking for a Compliance Manager / MLRO to hold the SMF16, 17.

This role involves continuous inspection of all aspects of the business to ensure all legal and regulatory standards are followed by employees and management.

Responsibilities

* Hold the function of SMF16, 17, Compliance oversight and Money Laundering officer, the arm authorised under the FCA.

* Develop all required documents needed for the FCA and keep them up to date.

* To develop and maintain a risked based compliance monitoring plan in order to ensure a comprehensive Compliance service

* To monitor and keep the Board and Management advised of current and pending relevant regulatory requirements

* To ensure that Management is aware of its responsibilities and obligations in conducting business in conformity with such rules and regulations so as to maintain my clients reputation.

* To report immediately to the Board and Chief Executive all material and significant breaches or potential breaches of regulations.

* To maintain a programme of training relevant to staff that is monitored and areas of weakness are raised and dealt with.

* To maintain a good working relationship with the regulator.

* To prepare and submit relevant reports to the Board and Chief Executive and, where requested, to the FCA including reports involving suspicious transactions.

* To liaise with the Internal and External Auditors in relation to Compliance matters and ensure timely implementation of all audit recommendations related to Compliance.

* To review, advise and assist the Compliance team with the investigations of any complaints

* To complete regular reviews of Complaint Handling

* Oversight of all Legal and HR related functions including contractual negotiations with clients and service providers

* Prepare, update and amend where necessary any legal T&Cs and policies of the business.

* Responsible for call monitoring and reporting of monthly figures to the COO.

Skills

* Held SMF16 and SMF17 responsibilities in the past and have thorough understanding of the responsibilities involved.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Independent thinker, with demonstrated good judgement, problem-solving and analytical skills

* Strong report writing skills with the ability to present information (both financial and non-financial) and recommendations in a clear and logical way

* Experience of conducting interviews/discussing issues with, and presenting findings to, senior management teams or Boards.

* Full understanding of FCA rules, SOCA etc.

* Ability to analyse and evaluate business as usual issues, and sound judgement to determine appropriate actions/solutions

* Good understanding of regulatory structure and process, regulations and their underlying principles

* Detailed knowledge of business processes, financial products, rules & requirements for relevant business unit(s)
