Interim Head of Engineering who can boast an impressive background of managing technical teams (20+), was a former engineer at heart (extensive Java expertise) and is currently hands on working with teams on both architecture and design.

Working closely with the CTO, as Interim Head of Engineering you will be responsible for:

• Platform stability(Azure) to ensure quality is built into every stage of the development process.
• Technology Strategy and Architecture -Build a technology roadmap that comprises of stream for cloud/platform and applications.
• Evaluate technical support and the communication paths with the rest of the organisation - development and cloud predominantly.
• Day to Day Operational Support / Change Management
• Work with the other engineering managers on ways of working and best-practices in terms of development, operations and support working together effectively to develop, test and release.
• Improve the release processes

The technology stack for the platform is as follows:

• Azure;
• SQL Server Database;
• Java 8, Google Web Toolkit and Java Enterprise Edition, Maven for the main application;
• Spring Boot, Dropwizard services;
• New Relic, Jenkins, Octopus, Nexus;
• Jira, Confluence.

This is fully remote and outside of IR35.
