Head of Service Management - IT/Technology/Digital - GBP78k/GBP90k - Public Sector - Flexible Working - Leeds
Your new company
Hays Technology are currently recruiting for a passionate and experienced Head of Service Management. You will be joining a large public sector organisation's Live Service Directorate as they begin to deliver exciting digital projects as part of a wider strategy.
Your new role
As the Head of Service Management, you will report to the Live Services Director, and be responsible for a wider team of circa 80 staff. This team manages a portfolio of multiple services delivered through the organisation. Further, you will have up to 3 direct reports, including Service Management Leads/Managers.
In your role, you will lead Service Improvement initiatives, ensuring that all the organisation's services are available and responsive at all times. Moreover, you will lead on the strategic thinking and implementation behind new projects, driving continuous service improvement across the directorate.
In the role of Head of Service Management, you will work closely and collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the optimal outcomes for all services. Finally, you will lead the response to high impacting scenarios and IT incidents as they arise.
What you will need to succeed
- Demonstrable experience of successfully leading a Service Management team
- Significant experience of working within a large scale, complex Service Management structure - within a senior management position
- Excellent knowledge of ITIL disciplines, with experience working within, - and implementing - ITIL process within a Service team
- Knowledge of SIAM is desirable
- Proven experience of leading other managers in a Matrix environment, to successfully deliver desired outcomes Experience of budget management
- Extensive internal and external stakeholder management experience
- A good level of IT Literacy, with significant experience working on IT Programmes
- Project management and ITIL certifications are desirable
- A visionary, with a passionate and driven attitude, with the ability to motivate a team, harmonising different viewpoints
