Our busy Public Sector client is looking to recruit a Head of Information Governance on a initial 6-9 month contract to help reshape the Information Governance service and deliver against recent audit goals.

Your main role will be to:

• Champion best practice in Information Governance and encourage change including reshaping service
• Lead the Information Governance practice and provide strong leadership
• Promote awareness and best practice
• Advise the business and its stakeholders on compliance
• Operational Management of the Information Governance Team
• Oversee training and awareness programmes
• Lead on Projects including leading on a number of actions following recent audit

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Worked at a Head of or Management Level across Information Governance and Data Protection
• Ideally service transformation experience
• Advanced knowledge of legislation and processes, etc across Freedom of Information and Data Protection
• Stakeholder management skills
• Project Management skills and able to engage at a corporate level
• Past experience with in a Local Authority environment
• A Champion for Change and Change Specialist

This role will mainly be remote home based but will also require some attendance onsite when the business requires this.
