Interim Head of Finance - £400-500 per day-SME Leicester
Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting for an exceptional Interim Head of Finance to Controller to business partner the senior management team and help push this ambitious small SME to the next level.
Our Client
Our client has strengthened its position to be now one of the brand leaders in its niche. They are however very shorthanded in the finance team and need someone immediately available to provide leadership to the finance team and support the business.
The Role
Reporting to the MD your key role will be to closely manage cashflow; liaise with banks and other external professionals to gain their confidence. You will of course be expected to produce clear and timely management information. This is a hands on role so you will need to get to grips with all the granular detail.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Production of comprehensive Monthly Management accounts with incisive commentary
- Cashflow daily/ weekly/ monthly
- Business partner and act as Critical Friend to Directors
- Budgeting &Forecasting
- Manage Bad debt and aged debt
- Ability to improve purchasing
- Investigate historical issues, stock values etc
- Manage relationships with professionals, Banks, Auditors, HMRC etc
- Significantly improve processes and procedures
Person specification
The ideal candidate will be immediately available and have experience of working in an SME in a very hands on detailed manner:
- Qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA
- Demonstrate experience within a growing SME environment
- Illustrate where you have been able to provide challenge to board level contacts
- Show a track record where you have improved or implemented processes and procedures
- Exhibit the ability to use Excel to speed up workflow
- Exposure to eCommerce would be advantageous
- Credibility in improving stock control and purchasing
