A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Procurement to join the team with our prestigious client

The Category Team Leader is :
Accountable for end to end performance of the acquisition process (Time, Quality, Subcontract or Frame Agreement Management, ..).
Expected to ensure the collaborative implementation of agreed category strategies that he/she oversees in the Region with a focus on continuous improvement of relevant categories.
Accountable for supplier selection and relationship management, via the Category Manager.
Accountable for strategic supplier performance (excluding operational / programme level) including quality, cost, delivery, contractual performance, innovation for all CBU's in his/her Region.
Accountable for ensuring the most up-to-date knowledge of his/her supplier market, including innovations and key new emerging technologies in his/her Region.

The Category Team Leader is also :
Accountable for motivating and leading the team and ensuring collective and individual efficiency,forming and enhancing team dynamic to meet the challenges in front of our business.
The role is Regionally based but he/she represents relevant categories on behalf of the Segment Director and as such requires an excellent view of the organization as well as a strong ability to interact with many stakeholders while ensuring the implementation of agreed Global category strategies.

Reporting to VP/Director of Procurement for Global Segment or VP/Director of Regional Procurement

Key Figures :
- Annual volume of commitment and spend within relevant categories and % of Savings
- Number of suppliers for the given category and the structured closure of legacy, close and disengage suppliers as defined by the category strategies
- Year on year competitiveness and cost reductions
- Categories operational performance (e.g.) quality, cost, delivery, supply risk assessment, tier 1 - x supply chain mapping, KPI etc.
- Categories compliance with policy suppliers based on both commitment and spend
- Implementation of framework agreement(s) or specific contract(s) where there is a business need.

The Category Team Leader is in charge of one or several procurement categories for the Region where he/she is based.
The Category Team Leader works in close relation with the relevant Global Category Managers, with the VP/Director of Procurement for Global Segment and with the VP/Director of Regional Procurement.
He/she will have regular feed back loop with them and the main tasks are:

Strategy:

• Ensure the relevant players have a very good knowledge of the Business stakes and support category strategies so that the business secures maximum projects and customer competitive advantage.
• Ensure that very clear savings targets are identified and delivered by both categories and supplier that can be tracked by business / project.
• Ensure categories commitment and spend compliance tracking is well reported.
Procurement Competitiveness Capture:
• Monitor the market for the category(ies) including key players, newcomers, economic evolutions, market or regulation constraints, innovations and technology in order to support the development of the most up to date category strategy(ies).
• Based on the above provide insights as to how products / projects could be more competitive via the adoption of different suppliers / methodologies / technologies etc.
• In conjunction with the Procurement Product, Bids and Project Managers (PPM) and cross functional teams, the Category Team Leader supports the preparation of Make / Buy (led by the PPM) decisions in order to optimise business performance.

Governance, Leadership and Performance Management:

• Ensure appropriate governance is applied using KPI's and root cause corrective actions
• Take into account for each Category Manager & Category Buyer the objectives set up by the Global Category Manager
• Develop and train his team
Supplier / Acquisition Management:
• Performance management of the supply base in line with the Global Category Manager .
• Ensure that supplier competitions follow the the Business governance process and are balanced and fair in order to improve business and customer performance.
• Ensure that the supplier contracts and framework agreements are negotiated when required in line with category strategies.
• Ensure that global contracts / framework agreements are adopted.
• Ensure that specific legal compliance is achieved and all supplier support specific government requirements so that global strategies be tailored to support compliance / legal issues.
• Ensure that the the Business e-Acquisition system and all relevant procurement tools are fully used so that there is clear transparency of all work on a global basis.
• Ensure that the risks, opportunities and Tier supply chain mapping is understood and managed in order to optimise performance to the business.
• Based on the performance management of the supply base, identify the suppliers who require focused development actions and ensure that the Supplier Development Team have the required support / leverage in order for these actions to be successful.

Recognising the restricted nature of the work there is a requirement for the candidate to be eligible to obtain Security Clearance for this role.
