Role Summary

The Head of DCDA & BEI will provide strategic leadership and vision, enabling delivery against the five-year strategic and financial plans of these business units. The role is responsible and accountable for ensuring that the delivery portfolio meets its internal and external customer's requirements, regulatory and security policies. Fundamental to the role is the adoption, enhancement, and ongoing advocacy of Digital's journey towards platform growth whilst ensuring standard project delivery process and governance procedures are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in support of Digital Services / DE's strategy.
  • Responsibility for Budget, Business Change and TOM of DCDA and BEI.
  • Effective engagement and stakeholder management within the client and external customers to ensure their requirements are being met and that we provide high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Work with and lead direct reports and senior business development managers to ensure the Digital Services pipeline and roadmap is fully defined and understood to facilitate increased sales enabling growth as per the five-year plan.
  • Takes responsibility for the quality assurance, governance and overall integrity of all data services and projects within these business units.
  • Lead multiple teams, managing and developing them as part of the client's ongoing capability development and succession planning.
  • Leads on Information Security policy, GDPR, assurance, and initiatives to minimize risk in this complex environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all business, corporate and regulatory demands, including accountability for all expenditure.
  • Recruit/engage and manage multi-disciplinary teams, based over multiple locations
  • Plans and monitors the programme's overall progress and schedules project deliverables, goals, and milestones; resolves any issues and instigates corrective action as appropriate
  • Creates strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning
  • Report to and make recommendations to the varying internal and external Governance Boards as appropriate
  • Ensure Corporate IT, Enterprise architecture roadmaps are kept current and updated
  • Develop compelling business/investment case for digital investment with realistic and evidenced backed benefits and savings.
  • Remain abreast of industry developments and market trends within designated sectors and proactively communicate to the organization
  • Establish and present to leadership new metrics appropriate to new digital capabilities and propositions


Key Skills:
  • Minimum of three years responsibility as Head of Delivery for high value, strategic programmes in a similar working environment (data collection and aggregation and energy management platforms).
  • In-depth understanding of IT products, services, and systems.
  • A demonstrable understanding of the client's business areas, the Energy industry and IT, gained from experience as well as through social/professional networking.
  • Strong understanding of the basic disciplines of programme financial management.
  • Proven leader of teams in a highly complex environment with a blend of internal resources, contractors and 3rd parties delivering programmes
  • Experience of managing multiple parties including Senior Project Managers and 3rd party vendors on high profile and technologically innovative solutions
