To own, drive and develop the Datawarehouse team in the production of BAU data loads, storage, DR, reporting and outbound data, remodelling Cornerstone values and behaviours and acting as an outward ambassador for the BI Team.

Description

Be the authority and provide leadership and guidance on database management, development, architecture, future design considerations, performance improvements and monitoring.

Develop and apply best practice and expert knowledge in all areas under the remit of ownership, creating and delivering a defined strategic roadmap for the data warehouse future.

Provide leadership to the data warehouse team, accountable for managing team workload and stakeholder expectations.

Develop and refine a pipeline of work to deliver all aspects of issues, reporting and development in an efficient and effective fashion, aligned to critical business timeframes and deadlines.

Lead the team to build strategic objectives and plan in line with BI roadmap.

Collaborate with senior stakeholders within the business and the rest of the BI team to understand future team requirements and plan accordingly.

Be an ambassador for the data warehouse team across the business through appropriate meetings around BAU and projects.


Manage, oversee and assist with BAU work and report production including review and continual development of the daily and overall warehouse processes/controls to improve the performance and reliability of the system and deliver business efficiencies.

Lead the team to deliver best practice database design to deliver the requirements of the business.

Manage and assist in integration of new data sources into the data warehouse in a timely fashion to allow reporting and data storage.

Be the overall authority, drive and assist team with:

  • Design high of level ETL architecture for overall data migration, data models, data mappings, business logic and data cleansing methods.
  • Designing and scheduling complex SSIS Packages, PowerShell scripts for transferring data from multiple data sources to SQL Server.
  • Data ingestion into the data warehouse
  • Data validation, reconciliation and data quality measurement and improvements. Both in storage and report production
  • Data backup and storage
  • Development of new data integrations from additional and expanding data sources to blend data into current dataset for reporting
  • Performance tuning of all stages of data life cycle: ingestion, storage and reporting using appropriate keys/tables/views/SQL/relationships etc
  • Issue route cause analysis, ownership and solutions
  • Testing and implementation of changes
  • Providing support to other projects as required and working together with data and other teams

Profile

The current infrastructure is Microsoft focused, with MS SQL and SQL Azure, however, you will be given full licence to choose and advise on the best tools and tech stack going forward.

Candidates from all industry backgrounds are encouraged to apply, however, a mixture of environments will carry a distinct advantage as you will be best placed to advise on the best fit for business needs.

Experience within the design, Database Installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, backups and recoveries is mandatory.
