Chief Data Officer required by major supplier of insurance services to the motor vehicle sector.
Our client have already begun the journey to transform into a data driven organisation and as such they seek an experienced Chief Data Officer, to lead the data function to provide the vision and strategy for all data management activities across the group
The Role:
The CDO will work alongside the senior leadership team to instil a data driven mindset and seek to ensure data is leveraged as a strategic asset.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
•Define strategic priorities for development of information-based business capabilities
•Identify and champion new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets
•Establish and govern an Enterprise Data Roadmap to include internal processes, data management and analytics
•Manage existing data teams and partner relationships
•Implement a data quality framework to establish standards, controls, and associated metrics for all dimensions of data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity, reasonability, timeliness, uniqueness, and validity)
•Provide leadership over GDPR, data governance and regulatory compliance
•Perform the functions the Group's Data Protection Officer
•Implement data strategies to support personalization across both b2b and b2c customers
•Identify potential use cases for data monetisation
The Person:
•The ideal candidate will be a charismatic leader
•Excellent at explaining the technical to a non-technical audience
•Have the ability to influence at all levels of the business and act as bridge between technical teams and business functions
Knowledge & Experience:
Essential:
•Driving change and providing consultation for senior business leadership and executives
•Previous experience in defining and executing data strategies and selling the data vision to broad range of stakeholders
•Proven track record of advocating and deploying data analytics solutions across an organisation
•Experience in managing technical teams
•Knowledge of data management theory including data lakes, data vaults and data modelling
•Strong understanding of data privacy law and regulatory requirements within the UK.
•Proficiency in data classification for security, usage, protection, and enterprise communication
Preferred:
•Graduate degree in information technology or related field.
•Insurance industry experience
•Exposure to the Design, development, and validation of descriptive, predictive, prescriptive, and applied analytics
•Partnering with Data Scientists in software engineering environments
•Project management skills
