2 x Non-Executive Directors

Wirral £13,000 pa

3 Year tenure

3-4 days per month

Do you want to help the NHS recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure we develop the right services to meet the forward health challenges of our population?

Do you have board level experience in Organisational Transformation, Workforce Development or Financial/Commercial leadership?

Do you have 3-4 days per month availability to make a huge contribution to the success of our organisation?

If the answer to all these questions is YES, then a role as a Non-Executive Director at Wirral University Teaching Hospital might be for you.

We provide a comprehensive range of services, as one of the biggest acute NHS Trusts in the North West. We serve an ever expanding population of circa 400,000 residents and employ over 6,500 members of staff (the largest employer on the Wirral Peninsula).

We are looking for 2 non-executive directors to join our Board in guiding our workforce to deliver the highest quality care for local people. Whilst the need for NHS experience is not essential, we are looking for individuals who can bring a wealth of knowledge from large and complex organisations. Expertise we are particularly interested in across the two roles are Organisational Transformation, Workforce Development or Financial/Commercial leadership.

You will need to think strategically, act independently, and build strong relationships. We place great value on working with our partners within the health and care system to achieve shared goals.

We want you to support our ambitious vision at a challenging and demanding time for the NHS. You will provide support and constructive challenge to the executive team and help us to continue to improve the services we deliver. You will engage in Board discussions, act as an ambassador for the Trust, and have a passion for delivering excellence.

We are especially keen to increase the diversity of the Trust Board to better mirror our workforce and the users of our services. We particularly welcome applications from women and from people who would bring diversity of experience, background, and culture to the Board, including people from ethnic minority communities.

If these opportunities interest you, please visit our dedicated microsite at www.wuthopportunities.co.uk ; or contact our retained consultant Jonathan Phillips on 07817 988490. We would love to hear from you.
