Description

  • Working in a similar fast-paced, best practice environment
  • Applying and deploying skills developed in a number of different categories / subcategories. This isn't a role where you will focus on one category. You will need to be versatile and commercially astute to identify opportunities, engaging to influence those they affect and resilient to deliver the required traction for change.
  • Using your judgement. You need to use your judgement as to when to run a project with a 7-step procurement process and when to accelerate the process with a lighter touch. Doing this has its risks so judging and mitigating this is key.
  • Strong and credible examples of engaging, influencing and managing stakeholders (who may have different ideas to yours!). We have acquired a number of businesses recently (& there will be more) and need to bring these into the fold so we can channel spend through the group contracts, manage risk and exploit opportunities.
  • Innovative commercial thinking to take cost out / down. They will want to know what you have delivered in the past and how this will contribute to their team.

Profile

It's important that you've got something to contribute. You'll need energy, enthusiasm and a passion to make a difference. We consider how you do things to be just as important as what you do. Whistl lives by its practices, these being:

  • Think as part of a team All that stuff about teamwork is true - working together works best.
  • Strong generalist procurement knowledge.
  • Experience in the IT procurement category.
  • Do the right thing - That means working as part of a team, supporting colleagues and customers, respecting them and sharing knowledge.
