For 150 years the Royal Albert Hall has been fulfilling its vision of inspiring artists and audiences worldwide; creating life-enriching, unforgettable experiences for everyone. Hosting over 400 events a year in the main auditorium and more than 800 in other smaller spaces, the Royal Albert Hall stands true to its original purpose of promoting the Arts and Sciences.

There is now an outstanding opportunity for an innovative and forward-thinking Chief Operating Officer to lead and deliver the myriad of functions that are critical to the effectiveness and delivery of the Hall’s strategic objectives.

Responsible to the Chief Executive, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide inspirational leadership for the Hall and ensure strategic direction, financial rigour, and clear operational success. The COO will have a responsibility across the organisation and particularly in the areas of commercial activities, finance, the building, and IT. The COO will, along with the CEO and Artistic Director, provide wider strategic and operational leadership as well as leading the following specific teams within the Hall:

  • Finance
  • Building and Facilities
  • Project Management
  • Information Technology
  • Procurement

As a member of the Executive Team, your skills, qualities and experience will ensure the ongoing operational, capital spending programmes and regulatory integrity of the Royal Albert Hall and you will work with the Chief Executive and Board on achieving our strategic objectives.

You will be a champion of organisational change and will bring proven acumen to deliver results to increase productivity and efficiency and ultimately provide leadership and direction to enable your teams to realise their full potential.

We are open-minded on your professional background, but expect significant commercial, operational and financial experience, and value your proven record of accomplishment and expertise in developing and implementing direction and strategy.
