The League Education & Treatment Center, a non-profit organization, located in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to administer, direct and monitor all agency financial activities and keeps the CEO and the Board of Directors informed of the financial condition of the agency.  The CFO serves as the senior financial resource for the agency ensuring a strong and collaborative process across departments with regard to operations, budget creation and management, regulatory and grants compliance and federal, state and city regulations.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Participates in agency policy development as a key member of the senior management team.
  2. Represents the Agency to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors and public officials, as necessary.
  3. Monitors capital asset expenditures and depreciation; prepares annual operating budgets,  as well as capital budgets and cash flow projections; arranges lines of credit and maintains proper banking relations; and adheres to LETC’s corporate compliance standards and procedures.
  4. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of federal, state and managed care reimbursement payment methodologies, including: contractual accounting, payment calculations, billing requirements and compliance issues.
  5. Ensures timely and up-to-date reporting in accordance with all state and federal grants and contract requirements.

Qualifications and Education:

  1. Must have BA/BS or MBA in Accounting/Finance. MBA/CPA preferred.
  2. At least 5+ years of experience serving in financial management with significant responsibility overseeing the financial functions of a nonprofit organization.   Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures (GAAP), business and administrative practices, and nonprofit environments required.
  3. Experience working with finance and accounting software packages; knowledge of Fund EZ nonprofit accounting software preferred.
  4. Must have knowledge with specific funding sources: OMH, SED, OPWDD, ACESS-VR, SEMP.
