A rapidly growing fintech known for combining entirely customized technology with the confidence of speaking face-to-face are looking for an Interim Head of Underwriting. They are transforming the SME lending market and have just started Series B funding. This is a 12 month minimum contract outside to IR35 and a chance to make a difference in an up and coming organization.

Responsibilities of the Head of Underwriting include:

Offer recommendations of remedial actions required on the identification of policy and protocol exceptions
Planning and delivering the strategy for the underwriting teams.
Continuous development of underwriting systems and processes
Develop close working relationships with the commercial teams
Mentor the underwriting team in strategy planning, technical development and leadership
Support the CRO and senior stakeholders through growth phase
Providing mentorship and support to the current underwriting manager to develop them into the Head of Underwriting position
Requirements of the Head of Underwriting include:

SME knowledge
Background in Challenger Banks or smaller Fintech
Manage relationships with commercial team, underwriting team and senior stakeholders
Experience in managing a team of underwriters
Ability to work fast paced and keep to time scales
Experience of underwriting small businesses loans to commercial and residential property investment
