Back in 2004 we set out to run a property maintenance company with a difference. We wanted to put our customers first and deliver a service that they could totally rely on. Aspect are now a team on a mission to build the world's best marketplace for the property maintenance industry, starting in the UK, and we require a CTO to join the senior team to help us realise our new growth story.
We're reimagining the expectations for tradesmen & their customers, we believe when looking to find, schedule & carry out works with a tradesman, where our new product Chumley should be the only viable option.
Property maintenance is one of the largest, yet least digitized sectors on the planet. We have a roadmap of features that would disrupt the industry and begin to ask questions regarding national legislation.
We believe homeowners should be empowered to better understand the maintenance process, while not needing to concern themselves with being overcharged. Tradesmen should expect the ability to earn fairly, with immediate payment, while having their portfolio of work and feedback, progress themselves towards longer-term rewards with a clear career path.
We have already since our launch of Chumley in 2019, proved the benefit we can bring to commercial customers, now it's time to show the world.
We're aiming to grow the Aspect business and Chumley product quickly and are currently backed by solid investment, that believes in our vision and is keen to see our team grow quickly over the next 12-24 months.

About the Role:
As CTO you will primarily be responsible for the build out the engineering team and drive the technical
vision, roadmap, and development of our platform;

Grow and lead the engineering team, including recruiting, performance
management, professional and personal development
Define, articulate, and execute our technology strategy for a scaling platform
Together with the CPO, help to drive Chumley's technical roadmap in-line
with business goals
Oversee all aspects of technology, IT infrastructure, architecture, and
support operations
Assist with communicating Chumley's technology strategy to partners and investors
Requirements:

Happy to be hands-on whilst the engineering team grows.
It may be a requirement to rebuild Chumley within a new infrastructure. So, your experience at having identified the most suitable Infrastructure service and tech stack in the past is essential
Entrepreneurial drive with start-up experience. You understand that start-ups are unpredictable environments and are comfortable with a degree of chaos
5+ years architecting and building products from launch through to maturity. Experience building two-sided marketplaces and B2B software is a plus
Proven experience hiring and managing engineering talent
Open-minded and curious about the world
Team player and fit right into our culture of supporting and helping each other out
High level of interest & knowledge in Blockchain & Web3
