Criticaleye was established in 2003 and has continued to develop over the last 19 years into the leading peer to peer board community. With operations in both the UK and Asia Criticaleye provides a personal service to all of our members, inspiring them to succeed. We operate across large global organisations, mid-tier FTSE 250 companies, high-growth AIM listed and PE-backed organisations, and the public sector.

Due to continued expansion we are looking to hire a Business Development Manager to focus on our global Chair and Non-executive Director membership base and our Chair-Ready Programme.

The role

Supported by a full-time researcher you will be expected to develop new relationships as well as generating referrals from our existing customer base. We are an advocacy-based service as such you will have to build a strong awareness of the challenges leaders face and be able to build solid long-term relationships.

The target audience will be individuals who are focused on their non-executive careers. Typically, these are former CEOs, CFOs and HRDs who now have a range of Chair and Non-executive directorships across PLCs, private equity, public sector bodies and charities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships
  • Inspire and motivate your dedicated researcher - creating a winning team
  • Hit core revenue targets
  • Through videocalls, in-person meetings and at our events build relationships with prospects through the demonstration of in‐depth knowledge and understanding of their leadership challenges
  • Pursue and close opportunities, managing all aspects of the sales cycle from lead generation to close
  • Diagnose prospects' career and leadership development needs and present appropriate solutions and create customised service plans
  • Utilise existing member relationships to contact new business leads
  • Collaborate with internal teams maintaining detailed knowledge of the company's products or services


Key Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Personal gravitas and credibility to earn trust with senior business leaders and act as a Criticaleye representative
  • Strong service ethic and keen interest in building relationships with board-level decision-makers
  • Ability to use internal influence to ensure that the full capabilities of Criticaleye are brought to bear in serving our clients
  • 3+ years of successful business development management experience
  • Experience of using salesforce and other CRM systems
  • Be both accurate and inspire accuracy in those around you
  • Demonstrated ability to serve in a role with revenue responsibility and able to meet monthly, quarterly and annual financial goals
  • Ability to manage multiple commercial processes, forecast with precision and identify challenges / bottlenecks to a positive commercial outcome
  • Superior time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of business concepts and dynamics for large global organisations and fast-growth companies
