We are offering a rare opportunity for an experienced Operations Director to set and direct the strategic goals and take responsibility for the flow of manufacturing operations across multi-sites in a newly created role.

Our complex electro-mechanical products are revolutionising the market and due to our product innovation, market demand and continued investment we are experiencing considerable growth. As Operations Director, you will utilise your technical expertise to drive the strategy for operations for the business devising the strategic 3-5 year plan alongside the long-term strategy.

You will ultimately motivate your team to not only provide first class customer service and ensure on-time delivery but also drive, lead, implement and work to deliver world class manufacturing standards.

As Operations Director it's expected you will have involvement in all areas of the operational side of the business. Key accountabilities will include:

Taking complete ownership of your manufacturing sites, developing and implementing world-class standards

Utilising your engineering and leadership acumen to ensure production output throughout the facilities taking into account facility, resource and manufacturing capabilities

Work with the board to set and deliver agreed manufacturing objectives in terms of product output at expected productivity, cost, quality and delivery levels while maintaining a healthy and safe workplace.

Consistently deliver product in line with process specifications

Support the Quality Manager to ensure conformance to ISO 9001-/ 14001-and create and implement best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures

Maximising your commercial acumen to look at where costs and profits can be affected and constantly strive to increase bottom line.

Utilising your engineering acumen to technically contribute to and drive engineering projects including tooling, machinery, materials and processes to ensure product is made on time, profitability is maximised and wastage minimised.

Manage and provide direction and leadership across Manufacturing, Quality and Health & Safety

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified / technically trained in an engineering subject with proven Operations Management / Directorship experience and an engineering background to include knowledge of electro-mechanical or mechanical assembly processes and / or machining / fabrication processes.

A high degree of commercial acumen and extensive experience of managing in a manufacturing environment.

A track record of delivering results in a progressive manufacturing environment with knowledge of continuous improvement / lean manufacturing / six sigma tools sought. Up to date industry experience such as industry 4.0 or similar ideal.

As there is considerable autonomy to directly impact the direction and continued growth of the business you will also need to be commercially savvy with the ability to influence at a strategic level.
