Head of Software Engineering | £120,000 + 10% Bonus & Excellent Benefits

One of the world's leading entertainment providers is looking for a Head of Software Engineering to lead a specific platform team. The role would be to lead 2 Development Managers and oversee circa 20 people indirectly. The Head of will be a bright, creative leader with a solid understanding of the total business process and the need for teamwork between technical functions of the company and internal business functions.

Experience & Leadership Requirements:
  • Successful experience in technical leadership roles.
  • Mould a diverse, inclusive, and equitable team culture which is healthy for all staff, psychologically safe, and encourages diversity of thought.
  • Build organisational structures which empower teams to move at a rapid pace and with minimal bureaucracy.
  • Experience partnering with Architecture, Product Management and other business stakeholders to shape the product direction.
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
  • Ability to articulate complex problems in a simple to understand manner.
  • Experience in agile software development.
  • Highly experienced in running effective interdisciplinary SCRUM teams across different locations.

The ideal candidate:
  • Have proven leadership success and be able to demonstrate that they have managed teams in multiple time zones and effectively managed 3rd party suppliers.
  • Excellent communication, creative problem solving and adaptability are all skills that are critical to this role.
  • A desire and ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation is a must.
  • Contributes to the development of strategy in their own area of responsibility.
  • Foresees longer-term implications of proposed positions, options and approaches that are not readily apparent.
  • Demonstrates insightful understanding of the organisational context and priorities, how they interact and how they affect issues.
