Job Details

This is a newly created role due to growth, and will be responsible for:

  • Monitor existing and new accounting policies to ensure that the Group complies with all relevant accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Communicate changes to accounting policies and practice to relevant stakeholders across the business
  • Review accounting for contracts and projects to ensure they are compliant
  • Prepare technical summary papers for complex accounting transactions or business issues
  • Provide and present research and analysis on accounting transactions to ensure the impact on the Group financial statements is compliant.
  • Ensure that accounting policies are applied consistently throughout the Group
  • Business partnering with other departments (tax, treasury, legal, M&A) and operating companies to consider and advise on new or complex accounting scenarios to support decision making.
  • Support the Group Technical Accounting team in useful training and accounting updates across the Group.
  • Assist the Group Reporting team to ensure that periodic reporting is accurate, timely and complies with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Review the Group's financial statements and provide technical accounting input where required.
  • Support and review SEC filings - working closely with fellow Group Reporting team in New York.
  • Provide information, support, and liaise with external auditors and advisors.
  • Additional ad hoc work, projects and analysis to support the team and wider business

The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified with post qualification experience either in practice or holding a technical accounting position in industry. Ideally you will have gained experience for large multinational company with UK & US listing exposure. Candidates should have good working knowledge of IFRS, SOX and internal control framework and knowledge of SEC regulations would be beneficial. You should have strong analytical skills to research materials, as well as strong communication to summarise and explain complex issues succinctly to a range of senior stakeholder business wide.
