Head of Platform Engineering - Tech for Good - AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform

Oliver Bernard are currently seeking a Head of Platform Engineering to join a Tech for Good company as part of extensive expansion plans for their DevOps and Platform Engineering functions.

Looking to improve the scalability and functionality of their platform, the ideal candidate will have Lead and/or Managerial experience, and be capable of making strategic decisions that will direct their team at scale across DevOps implementations whilst implementing DevOps/SRE best practices.

The current team consists of ten engineers, with plans to grow this over the coming months once the Head of Platform has joined the team. This is a really great opportunity for someone at the Managerial level looking to develop a team within an established environment, or someone with the hands-on capacity to Lead looking for their next step up.

Existing projects have a focus around Cloud and Container technologies, as well as a series of Infrastructure, Performance and Security related tools.

Therefore, alongside Managerial experience, previous work with the following technologies is required:

• AWS Cloud
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• Automation with Puppet or Ansible
• Experience with Monitoring and Security technologies
• Past development experience is also a bonus

This opportunity can offer GBP100-130K, alongside benefits, and can interview & onboard remotely at this time. This opening is heavily remote/WFH focused, and with offices across the UK this position can support someone based anywhere in the UK.
