Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Head of Security Operations for an initial 6 month contract with the potential to extend on a rate of GBP600-GBP650/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities:

-The Head of Security Operations will be a key member of the Cyber Security, Risk and Resilience team.
-They will manage a small team of operational security staff responsible for the management and monitoring of security events.
-They will also manage key security tooling including vulnerability management and network segmentation.
-The post holder will have a key role in Security Incident Management and Response and may be expected to take part in an extended support rota

Essential Skills:

-Experience of multiple Information Security and Cyber Security technical domains
-In depth hands-on experience of IT security tools and the implementation of security controls in an enterprise environment
-Working knowledge of best practice security standards and principles eg ISO/IEC 27001, NCSC Cloud Security Principles, NIST Cybersecurity Framework etc
-Previous experience leading teams, coaching and providing feedback

Desirable Skills:

-Professional Security Qualification eg CISSP, CISM
-QRadar engineering experience
-Nexpose/Insight VM engineering experience
-Network security experience
