Assistant Director – City Housing Services and Support

The role of AD – City Housing Services and Support at this large and high-profile Local Authority leads, shapes and supports the provision of a sustainable long-term housing service, combining innovative solutions to material challenges and steady, consistent and reliable service delivery to put the needs to tenants and the community to the fore.

With a broader remit of delivery in the context of both local and national challenges, the fundamental delivery of the service on a consistent basis is key; and the AD will be tasked with ensuring that housing and early intervention support are giving the best possible service to tenants and the community alike, particularly in responding to and anticipating need.

Part of this will be supporting a new operating model with early intervention at the heart, integrating housing options, homelessness and care support. As well as leading and guiding the teams and managers across the department, you’ll work closely with the rest of the Senior Management Team and council members and leaders providing support, advice and direction where needed. In addition you’ll provide support and guidance across a variety of projects and programmes.

You’ll need recent leadership of a public Sector Housing operation and be able to demonstrate this well in your application, outlining both responsibilities and achievements in previous roles/assignments.
