Assistant Director – City Housing Management
The City Housing Management department of this major Local Authority controls the agenda for the future of housing in the area and defines the strategy of the Council as a local Landlord. The department is seeking an experiences director-level individual to undertake the leadership of the department and play an important role in the wider management of Housing.
As interim AD, you’ll oversee the delivery of a variety of services related to Housing management including landlord services; caretaking; repairs; maintenance and planned works. With a very sizeable stock, the responsibilities are significant in light of current social challenge as well as the very real demands for change promoted by climate change. The use of new technologies and the meticulous co-ordination of works and retrofitting are key to meeting the Authority’s housing agenda and strategy.
Your application will demonstrate a considerable understanding of the challenges of a modern Public Sector housing service through your recent roles, demonstrating leadership skills, the ability to improve/transform services, raise standards and steer & motivate a diverse team; as well as providing strong and reliable advice to senior leaderships and council members where required.
The specific demands of this particular authority mean this is a role for an experienced housing leader and applications will be prioritised according. The role is covering a permanent post for an undefined period at this stage, and is viewed as in scope of the IR35 regulations.
