Comic Relief is a unique organisation, packed full of brilliant, funny, creative, visionary people. We’ve been driving positive change through the power of entertainment since 1985, making a difference to the lives over 100 million people across the UK and around the world. Our vision of a just world free from poverty has never been more relevant. We believe that this mission is possible and that those closest to the issues have the best solutions, so we partner with amazing projects and organisations that are working to tackle some of the biggest challenges society faces today.

While we’re proud of what we’ve achieved over the past three decades, we need to ensure our methods of working with our partners, of raising and distributing funds, of creating meaningful impact, are ahead of the curve. We have a unique platform and with this comes the responsibility to ensure our partners and projects are represented with dignity and are empowered to lead their own stories. It is here that our Board holds critical importance: to make Comic Relief the best it can be.

Comic Relief has experienced a lot of change over the past few years. As we consider how to best support the communities we partner with, particularly in the UK and Africa, we also need to rise to the challenges of income generation across disparate and increasingly digital audiences. As we approach a new corporate strategy in 2022, we are looking for two new Trustees to join our Board to help Comic Relief evolve into its next phase: one to support us in our fundraising efforts with existing and new audiences alike, and the other to provide expertise in social change in a Global South context.

While our Board comprises people from a wide variety of professional backgrounds and lived experiences, we are united by Comic Relief’s vision of a just world free from poverty. As such, we are as interested in your opinions and insights as much as we are your professional experience, which can have been gained across a variety of contexts.
