The Prep Schools Trust is a family of flourishing schools bound by a strong set of shared values. Each school in the Trust is unique with its own distinctive character, and all deliver first-rate academic teaching and pastoral care in beautiful settings ripe with potential for adventure and discovery. The Trust is a platform for the individual and collective growth of the schools, working in partnership to be strong, adaptable, and agile. Prep Schools Trust creates environments within which children from all backgrounds and abilities can grow intellectually and emotionally, helping them to reach their full potential and build futures full of promise.

The Trust is now seeking an experienced executive to join the leadership team as Chief Operating Officer. The incoming COO will have the unique opportunity to shape the future direction of the Prep Schools Trust and work strategically to further improve the services that the central team provides. They will be responsible for all aspects of the financial performance of the Trust, including planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the Trust and its schools, and will report to the Trust Finance Committee and Board of Trustees on all financial issues. The COO will also have wide ranging responsibility for other operational areas, including IT and Estates. The COO will assess business development opportunities for the Trust, including acquisition and integration of new schools, and will work in partnership with Trustees to agree and monitor the Capital Investment Plan.

The successful candidate will have previously held responsibility for the finance and/or wider operational functions in a significantly sized organisation and have experience of devising and implementing strategic plans. They will be professionally qualified with substantial post-qualification experience and have demonstrable capacity to lead and motivate a team in a large organisation. Ideally a chartered accountant is preferred but applicants with relevant experience and an MBA or property-related qualification will be considered.
