Role Description
- Work closely with senior management and the board to help define and deliver the product vision and strategy for engineering.
- Lead, mentor and coach the Engineering Management team to create high performing software engineering teams.
- Actively participate in technical discussions and design reviews sharing context with the engineering team to help ensure that we get to the right solution.
- Ensure that the engineering team consistently produces high quality, reliable, scalable, secure and performant software.
- As a member of the Engineering Management team, you'll contribute to engineering-wide initiatives on anything from optimising our hiring pipelines to building great processes that increase productivity.
- Develop, mentor and coach individual contributors and support them in their career development.
Experience Required
- 5+ years experience of Engineering Management of product aligned teams.
- Demonstrated experience of being a manager of managers, overseeing multiple teams.
- A strong hands-on software engineering background, ideally in a cloud native environment.
- Experience using modern technology stacks such as microservices, REST API's, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS, GCP, Golang, Python etc.
- Great interpersonal skills to drive communication with engineering teams, Product Managers and client representatives.
- You should enjoy working in environments where you have a high level of responsibility and autonomy.
- You are comfortable wearing different Engineering Manager hats that suit the changing needs of the teams as they evolve.
