The Company:
ER Recruitment are excited to be working exclusively with our client, a rapidly growing and reputable business based in Loughborough. They are now seeking an experience Operations Director with an engineering and/or fabrication background.
This is a critical role within the business and will report directly to the business owner. The role is diverse and offers a great amount of autonomy to make your stamp on an already successful organisation. You must be commercially astute, and a strong leader with the customer at the centre of every strategy.
It is a great time to be joining such an organisation as they head through a time of investment and change within their operation. Therefore, you would need to have previous hands-on experience within this capacity.

Role & Responsibilities of the Operations Director:
  • Oversee all operational aspects of company strategy, set strategic goals and be responsible for the flow of operations information to the Managing Director and the board.
  • Part of the SMT - deputising for, and progress reporting to, the MD.
  • Be able to step up to run the business in the absence of the Managing Director
  • Relationship Management and Continued Cultivation, including being able to converse with clients at all levels including technical.
  • Delivery, management and oversight of all client related agreements and services
  • Oversight, Management and Delivery of/to clients' budgets.
  • Up- and cross-sell of services.
  • Responsible for the quality and timely delivery of all operational output.
  • Strong operational management across the supply chain, consistently delivering and exceeding required performance across a broad range of KPIs ensuring a focus on safety of employees and customers.
  • Responsible and accountable for all teams that impact the customer journey - Technical, Operations and Customer services.
  • Liaison with clientele and stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Administrative duties required to complete the role effectively.

About You as the Operations Director:
  • Experience in an engineering and/or fabrication industry, ideally to have a time served apprenticeship background in sheet metal / fabrication.
  • Self aware and authentic leadership style with ability to influence, develop and empower employees to achieve targets and objectives, with experience managing people who have their own direct reports.
  • A good understanding of the critical paths associated with running an SME, including delivering projects on time and on budget, working around 'blockers' and finding ways around supply chain issues and doing what it takes to deliver.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to contribute directly to the overall business strategy and work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team on their functional commercial issues.
  • Good understanding of cashflow
  • You will be a first-class communicator and possess excellent interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.
  • In personal terms, you will possess integrity, emotional intelligence, initiative, energy and zest and be uncompromising on quality standards. A robust personality must be in evidence - someone of stature, strong enough to gain instant credibility internally and externally.
  • Someone who is trustworthy, friendly and works with integrity and always in partnership for the long-game!
