Our client is seeking to appoint a Project Director aligned with their Manufacturing, Automotive, Life Sciences and Energy (MALSE) Industry Unit. The Project Director will be leading and directing a team of Portfolio Managers, Project Managers and Business Support professionals with primary responsibility for delivery within the unit.

Your Role
*Accountable for all aspects of project and service management within the Unit.
*Partners with Clients to transform & industrialize outsourced engineering and R&D services.
*Manages the program relationship with strategic client(s) at C1-C2 level, as well as client care & overall satisfaction.
*Oversees Portfolio & Project Managers' activities to ensure on time, cost, quality and scope - including regular phase reviews, monthly or quarterly project reviews, and KPI management.
*Controls governance, delivery, risk management, financial profitability of the portfolios to maximise operating margins
*Promotes the discipline and profession of project and service management
*Contributes to Methods and Best Practices design and roll-out
*Constructively challenges the status quo, a way of working or a requirement to improve overall value
*Coaches & provides guidance to colleagues and peers
*Brings key contribution to strategic objectives for the business, and ensures that programs/portfolios are similarly aligned

Your Profile
*You will be an ambitious, highly motivated, self-starter who has a critical understanding of project delivery, operational business processes, procedures and challenges with a proven track record in successfully delivering time critical complex projects. You will have significant project management experience, some of which in international settings or with non-UK based customers.
*You will have developed an established track record for resolving complex problems, managing risk, maintaining effective control of complex projects, manipulating and presenting data in a simple form to support business investment and priority decisions and delivering on time. Your ability to provide accurate and timely business KPIs will be a given.
*You will be comfortable working across the business and across transnational cultures, establishing diverse relationships for the supply of internal and external services in the capacity of both customer and supplier.
*You will have strong problem solving and analytical skills, be an excellent communicator (written and verbal); have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with others.
*You will be able to deal with complexity and manage the concurrent demands of a wide variety of stakeholders.
