International multi-site manufacturing leadership role – global chemicals manufacturer

The Company

  • A global chemicals group, and a leading manufacturer of performance additives used as speciality ingredients in a wide range of products and materials.
  • Supplying a blue chip client base throughout the world, their technology is used to improve the quality of life for consumers, and contribute to a more sustainable environment.
  • With circa 3,700 employees, annual sales of £1.7bn, and a multi-site manufacturing footprint, principally across Europe, the company’s head office and leadership team are based in the north east of England.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for leading the manufacturing operations activities for 6 complex and high-volume plants - ensuring safe, sustainable, competitive, efficient, and cost-effective performance to meet the current and future strategic business needs of the company.
  • Leading a direct team of 9, you will lead the ongoing development of the company’s personal and process safety performance; future-proofing the next phase of the group’s evolution through effective organisation design and succession planning.

The Candidate

  • An experienced operations or manufacturing director within the chemicals, petrochemicals, or related process industries manufacturing sectors, you will have a successful track record in leading a multi-site international network of manufacturing plants.
  • Degree qualified, ideally in engineering or chemistry, you will have experience of leading transformation projects, process improvement and manufacturing excellence programmes.
  • This role demands a strong leader with a broad range of technical, operational & leadership experience.
