Job Details

Parkinson Lee Executive Search are the retained partner to a highly entrepreneurial, owner managed, Civil Engineering Organisation based in West Yorkshire, in the appointment of a Group CFO.

Reporting to the CEO (Owner), you will lead a high calibre multifunctional Finance, IT and HR team, and key responsibilities will include:

*Being an active member of the Board in the overall running of the business to achieve the organisational goals
*Acting as a strong business partner and 'sounding board' to the CEO and other Board members, supporting and challenging where appropriate
*Supporting the business in the creation and implementation of both short and longer term strategic plans
*Full financial management of the business to include overseeing the production of monthly, quarterly and yearly reports and accounts
*Developing an FP&A function to deliver MI and business intelligence for the first time that will significantly improve operational effectiveness through more informed commercial decision making
*Strict cash flow and working capital management
*Reviewing the business plan and comparing actual vs projected budgets and making recommendations and influencing at board level
*Ensuring compliance with statutory financial and accounting requirements
*Managing all third relevant third party relationships, i.e. banks, auditors, insurers, funders etc

The ideal candidate will be:
*A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience of operating at board level
*An experienced and well established FD, with proven experience operating in a number one finance role
*Experienced within civil engineering, construction or contracting
*Must have contract accounting experience, in particular an understanding of the revenue recognition process for WIP
*A highly experienced, and charismatic business leader with the ability to influence at all levels both internally and externally
*Confident, personable and possess the gravitas to gain the credibility at board level quickly
