Description

The Role:

This role holder must understand the Partnership business requirements (this retailer works with other retailers to sell their brand across others platforms), on a case-by-case basis, and translate these into effective, efficient, economical, and robust processes and solutions, to support compliant and hassle-free engagement with the contracted partners. The role is required to advise on the most effective solutions to complex and often unique requirements, which require excellent interface management between the role holder and the Partnership team, teams - Imports, Buying & Merchandising, Logistics Operations, and Transport, as well as contacts including carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL's offering warehousing and fulfilment solutions. The role is needed to facilitate the profitable growth of the partnerships and to bring expertise, insight, and opportunities to the core supply chain.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Strong team leadership is essential for managing, coaching, and guiding the Operational Team. (around 6 heads)
  • An experienced Supply Chain professional, with a track record in delivering supply chain efficiency through innovative and bespoke solutions.
  • The individual must have excellent knowledge of all modes of importing from around the globe, and understand the end-to-end supply chain process, including buying and merchandising, and logistics, warehousing and distribution.
  • They must have strong networking and people skills, the ability to negotiate, and communicate effectively, and influence at all levels, both internally and externally with key suppliers.
  • They must have relevant demonstrable experience in the end-to-end movement of goods, QC, refurb and staging in the supply chain pathway.
  • They must be able to advise and recommend efficient and effective solutions for the movement of core business product and share best practice with the core Imports team.

Profile

  • To be an accomplished leader, manager and coach, with experience of running an effective team across several disciplines.
  • A proven track record of achievement in Supply Chain management
  • Knowledge of the supply chain landscape, understanding the customer's requirements. Detailed knowledge of freight movement efficiencies, and the capabilities to identify consolidation and ordering and flow efficiency opportunities considering the streaming of core stock to prevent any ill effects and create consolidation advantages
  • A proven track record in leadership, management and commercial negotiating skills would also lend itself to the role.
  • This role ideally requires a minimum of 10 years previous experience of working within the supply chain environment and will have a depth of Knowledge on the market conditions.
  • They will have had an involvement with process design, mapping, improvement and risk awareness.
  • Communication skills proven by interaction and networking with cross-functional peers and external customers and suppliers are paramount.
  • There is also a requirement to influence people and where appropriate challenge decisions and processes.
  • They must be capable of demonstrating negotiation, leadership, and commercial awareness.

Job Offer

The salary for this role is £50000 pro rata on a 6 month fixed term contract

The ideal candidate will be immediately available or willing to leave a permanent role

Hybrid working applies to this role (3 days at home, 2 days in the Manchester office)
