Michael Page Logistics are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Operations Manager for our client in Thatcham.

Client Details

Our client is an importer and distributor to independents, regional chains and wholesalers in the UK. They have ambitious plans to transform and grow the business and you will join a critical time.

Description

In the role of Warehouse Operations Manager you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead Health and Safety standards across the organisation to ensure all employees have a "safety first" mindset and the company is legally compliant.
  • Recommend, contribute and deliver warehouse operational objectives, strategic plans and reviews.
  • Develop/implement, policies and procedures in respect of goods received, inventory management, and dispatch to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Manage, challenge and ultimately improve warehouse productivity; by planning layout, +product flow, product handling systems, analysing process work flow, manning and space requirements.
  • Manage recruitment, training, coaching and employee performance for all operational employees.
  • Develop, deliver and review logistics SLA performance versus core metrics.
  • Meet warehouse financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions plans.
  • Work cross functionally with the Senior Leadership Team and the Managing Director to maintain the strategic direction for growth, whilst maintaining effective day to day business operations.
  • Define the 3-year strategic plan for warehouse and logistics footprint in order to support the company's growth plans.

Profile

We would like to hear from highly experienced candidates within warehouse and logistics management. You will be focussed on Health and Safety Standards and have a proven background in implementing procedures to improve warehouse and supply chain efficiencies. Candidates from a variety of sector will be considered but will need to demonstrate strong and consistent leadership in a fast-paced environment. Due to the size of the operation you must be a collaborative worker operating across functions at a Senior level. A continuous improvement mindset, ideally having knowledge of Lean techniques and having implemented them previously would be advantageous. You will work to a number of metrics and will be driven to exceed targets. You will be proactive, creative & highly responsive to find & take advantage of short notice opportunities as they emerge Finally previous use of WMS, stock management, fantastic communications skills are all important.
