Our client manufactures sustainable energy equipment and is committed to support the energy transition towards a net zero carbon economy.

The UK flagship site comprises over 500 employees, 7 production lines and has the capacity to significantly increase output. The business has a ‘build and grow’ mandate and the equipment is highly regarded. Production needs to be enhanced to meet growing market expectations. With revenues of £350+ million in the UK, the ambition is to triple that in the next 10 years. The Operations Director is pivotal to make this happen and will be responsible for the site and associated supply chain, reporting into the UK Managing Director.

The Operations Director will:

  • Ensure safe operations and engender proactive, inclusive leadership to embed a lean transformational change to meet demand.
  • Achieve OTIF improvements in line with a balance scorecard of 95%.
  • Manage the optimisation of resources, enhancing technology leadership and market focus.
  • Advance service quality, market responsiveness and engage all stakeholders.

A strong lean manufacturing operations background, coupled with commercial acumen, you will have a fast-track  management career with proven success of change management and associated growth in a similar sized business.

Your background is likely to cover both batch and high volume production within capital equipment manufacture. The sector background is flexible and could be automotive, defence, energy, rail or aerospace etc. You will be comfortable working in a changing environment and will have the credibility and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships to relate to both the workforce and executive team. Having high energy, empathy to achieve a 'One Team' approach is required to realise the full potential of the business.
