Finance Director

Our client is looking to appoint an FD for the first time, a hugely important role that will involve working closely with the Board to develop a new strategic plan. The FD will also provide quality management information and financial advice to internal stakeholders and take a lead role in the development of systems and processes. The role can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. 

Responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for all aspects of the companies finance function
• Build a new strategic plan
•  Provide financial input to the Management Board on special projects
• Management of procedures and systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information
• Monitor actual performance against budget, explain variances against budget and previous year and advise on any required action.
• Manage working capital 
• Liaise with external tax advisers

Required Skills

• Accountancy qualification - CA, ACCA, CIMA
• Ability to lead and motivate a small team
• Ability to form good working relations with all internal stakeholders
•  May suit someone someone with in house finance experience or coming directly from practice
