Located on the outskirts of the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury, Kent College is a co-educational day and boarding school for 782 pupils aged 3 months to 18 years. Following a sustained period of successful growth and development, including the opening of Kent College Dubai in 2016, a virtual school in Hong Kong in 2020 and Kent College Cairo due to be opened in September 2022, Governors are now seeking a Bursar of the highest calibre to join this ambitious and thriving school.

Over the last ten years numbers in the main school have doubled and the family of schools has continued to develop locally through its relationship with Lorenden Preparatory School and the opening of Garden Cottage Nursery. Such growth is attributed to the distinct position of the school in the local market where it is recognized for the care and attention it gives to individuals, alongside the academic, sporting and arts honors it has earned.

Reporting to the Head, the Bursar will lead and manage a diverse support staff serving all non-academic operations of the school and ensuring its overall financial health and sustainability. The Bursar will also provide strategic and commercial input into key areas of the school, including expansion of its education provision and other development opportunities.  The Bursar is a critical member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team, and also acts as Clerk to the Board of Governors.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of effective senior leadership, including the management of large teams and major change projects. This person will possess exceptional financial acumen in addition to well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. Kent College is a member of the Methodist Independent Schools Trust and a commitment to, and empathy with, the wider educational and charitable mission of the school will also be essential.

Further information on the school can be found at www.kentcollege.com and a candidate brief, including details of how to apply, can be downloaded from www.odgers.com/84292.

Application forms, letters of application and CVs should be sent should be sent by Friday 10 December 2021 to Odgers Berndtson.
