Royal Voluntary Service
Director of People and Volunteering
Salary: £105,000

The Royal Voluntary Service is Britain’s leading volunteering charity. We believe volunteering offers enormous value for the person making the gift, and to those receiving it. Volunteering changes lives, communities, and society Volunteering is at the heart of building a broader, more diverse and integrated civil society as seen in the amazing volunteer response to the pandemic, where the UK mobilised the largest volunteer workforce since World War II, 12.4m individuals stepped forward to volunteer.

RVS were at the very forefront of this voluntary response recruiting in excess of 1.4million volunteers in support of the NHS/Care and community. As we move into the volunteering revolution, we are seeking an inspirational Director to join our senior management team. This is an exciting role that will lead RVS’ blended workforce, both volunteers and staff, to be the best they can be.  A proven authentic leader, the Director will think creatively and holistically to develop and deliver a visionary volunteering strategy as RVS move forward into the future.

Our remit across Great Britain means that we work with diverse communities, and we are intent that the diversity of those communities is reflected at all levels in our organisation. We are looking for someone with passion for our cause who believes in our vision and has a positive contribution to make. We are keen to speak to those with a record of achievement in an executive role in a complex organisation who want to make a difference and support RVS to play forward the volunteering phenomenon seen in the pandemic.
