Technical Director (M&E Operations) - Data Centres

London based - Global responsibility

You will currently be working at the forefront of technical engineering within data centres or a critical sector. Within this role you will be responsible for working towards 100% uptime across a global portfolio of data centres.

This is a leadership role and requires an individual with exceptional technical capability. This is an operational position so all applicants must have experience working within critical engineering operations.

The role

As the Technical Director you will be the figurehead for a global team of Technical Managers responsible for driving the consistency and standards across the business in order to achieve the 100% uptime target across the companies global data centre portfolio.

This position is a key one in terms of leadership and will require a highly strategic approach and a high level of technical knowledge and capability. As the Technical Director you will be Liaising with other regional leads to ensure that a joined up approach and adherence to standards are achieved across the portfolio.

Could this role be for you?

Qualifications / Experience relevant to the role:
  • In-depth technical understanding of critical engineer / data centres, and the associated challenges and risks
  • Over 10 years of experience in critical technical engineering.
  • Experience working across multiple geographies.
  • Demonstrable expertise in design or use of Critical Facilities MEP infrastructure and related equipment
  • Market leading knowledge of new technology.
  • Ability to implement global products across a large portfolio.
  • Educated to degree or equivalent in electrical engineering.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Excellent technical knowledge of critical engineering.
  • A strong understanding of critical engineering.
  • A proven track record delivering 100% uptime across multiple geographies.
  • To be comfortable with travelling to sites across the global portfolio.
  • Ability to provide inspirational leadership to the rest of the team and empower the team to perform to the standards required and keep pace with ongoing expansions
