We have the pleasure of working with a Northwest based Which? recommended ecommerce business who are looking to appoint an experienced Chief Marketing Officer to join their board. The appointment is being made to accelerate the growth trajectory that they have experienced over the last decade aiming to double turnover from £50m to £100m (10% EBITDA) within the next three years.

Reporting into the Owner and Managing Director, you will have full responsibility for leading and developing the internal marketing team to realise their growth ambitions.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join an already successful business who have invested significantly in both their internal team structure as well as market leading technology.

To be successful in this role, the incoming candidate will have an extensive track record of leading a marketing team within a £70 - £100m ecommerce business. They will also be able to successfully demonstrate their impact on growth of a similar magnitude.

Critical impact areas for the incoming Chief Marketing Officer will include:
  • Working closely with the CFO and non-executive Director to create, develop, and deliver a 3 year growth strategy that drives revenue growth from £48m to £100m.
  • Daily analysis of trading data to drive improvements and maximise the opportunities.
  • Improving capabilities within the team particularly SEO and PPC to allow them to bring it in house.
  • Proactive marketing plan to ensure campaigns and product launches are running on time and to budget.
  • Suggest and implement ways to improve the consumer experience to increase the conversion rates/online spend and increase basket value through technology, data and digital capabilities.
  • Research new potential revenue streams for the business to create loyalty.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Senior Leadership Team and Board on how to optimize the marketing budget.
  • Fostering collaboration to ensure that buying, marketing and logistics work as effectively as possible to provide the optimum consumer experience.
  • Influencing the pricing strategy and decision making taking into account the marketing activity.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to identify future technology investments.
  • Develop relationships with partner brands to generate a contribution to the marketing spend.
  • Apply a modern multi-channel strategy to acquire new customers such as affiliate marketing and the use of modern platforms.
  • Improve the merchandising to attract and influence the buying habits of the consumer ensuring that products are displayed in a simple yet aesthetically pleasing format.
