Executive Director – Corporate Resources

When it comes to potential and global reach, Oxford punches far above its weight. Whether it’s the renowned Universities or the World-class hospitals, the pioneering technology and science or the incredible history, the beautiful environment, or the diverse communities and vibrant cultural scene, few can match Oxford.  The City Council is as ambitious as Oxford itself, determined to build on its strengths and committed to addressing the challenges Oxford faces.

Help us to make a difference by solving Oxford’s housing problems through building more affordable, high-quality housing and improving the private rented sector; reducing road congestion and air pollution in our medieval city centre and delivering major development and regeneration and tackling inequalities to ensure all our citizens benefit from Oxford’s success. Tackling the climate emergency is the world’s biggest challenge, and we are playing a leading role in the city’s journey to a zero-carbon future. These are exciting opportunities to help Oxford transform and ready itself for the future to come.

Oxford City Council is looking for an exceptional individual to join us as an Executive Director to help shape the council’s future and overcome challenges to achieve the city’s potential. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the UK’s most ambitious and fast-growing cities as part of a talented and dynamic senior management team.

As a strategic leader for a range of corporate services, the post holder will drive a sustainable and deliverable financial strategy across the organisation, lead effective governance and relationships with our two successful and growing companies and play a leading role in developing a fully joined-up, cross-council change agenda to improve services and generate efficiencies.
