This role is the ownership of business facing technology delivery within the Equity or Sustainable Investment (ESG) areas. With a technical Development management background you will also understand Portfolio construction and/or Index creation, partnering with the Equity/SI Research and Product teams to deliver new Index products and services.

Main role objectives are:

  • Improve the delivery capability within technology to create new Equity and SI index products.
  • Be primary point of contact and stakeholder manager within technology for the Equity/SI product & research teams to deliver new product development in an agile environment
  • Develop new cloud based platform to provide cross-asset index calculation functionality, in a technically agnostic environment (Currently linux, .net, aws and SQL)
  • The role has been created to drive the development of a new/brownfield, cross-business platform in an expanding and highly profitable business. There are equivalent roles in both Equities and SI/ESG with an understanding of their respective businesses key to this role which will be strongly partnered with Research and Product teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and execution of strategy for implementation of the technology solutions required to support the Equity product roadmap.
  • Own and align the Equity technology roadmap with the Index platform engineering roadmap to deliver on key business development and integration synergy commitments.
  • Manage Equity Index technology team including people, quality, budget, communications and issue resolution.
  • Keeps abreast of technology products and services available, and implements new and emerging technologies that might affect current or future Group businesses, operational and/or regulatory capabilities
  • Manages relationships with key suppliers, setting performance standards and managing the resolution of escalated service issues
  • Support delivery strategy and execution teams and champions agile delivery methodology and a continuous improvement framework to drive efficiency and enable business agility
  • Ensures that all teams have been trained in appropriate methodologies and understand their role in the organisation
  • Drive cost reduction of delivery and maintenance through technology and process automation
  • Executes Scrum/KanBan processes used by multi-discipline teams and execution of associated practises, as appropriate
