St Christopher’s is a remarkable school, which enriches and transforms the lives of its girls.  Teachers are committed to ensuring girls are nurtured, inspired and challenged as they go through their primary school years. The School’s forward-thinking, distinctive and creative curriculum motivates pupils to broaden their minds and to push their academic boundaries. The education offered provides girls with outstanding academic preparation for a wide range of senior schools, helping them develop rigour, problem-solving skills and intellectual inquiry.

The Governors of St Christopher’s School are now looking to appoint a Bursar and Clerk to the Governors, as Emma Ghosh is moving on following a successful five years in the position.

A member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Bursar will manage the school’s finances, ensuring it operates in an efficient cost-effective way, providing value for money and maintaining the School’s long term financial and operational stability. The Bursar will also act as Clerk to the Governors, reporting to the Governing Body on all matters of finance and government. The appointed candidate will play a lead role in all non-academic aspects of St Christopher’s, line-managing the support staff team that encompasses administration, HR, facilities, and ICT functions.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Bursar who is well-organised, flexible, hands-on with a can-do attitude, with strong management and accounting skills, personal empathy, a collegiate style, and the highest standards of integrity.  Candidates should have a strong financial and commercial background, ideally with experience of human resources management, Health and Safety and risk management, buildings and project management, and legal and compliance issues at senior level. Candidates must be able to understand and support the strategy and management issues of such a well-established and successful independent day school.

St Christopher’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
