Layout Designer/Urban Designer opportunity created internally with a rapidly growing House Builder in their South Yorkshire office. You will be fully in control layouts for potential new sites with the land department / appraisal process.

Description

This is a senior position in the Technical Team, with you responsible for layout production from concept to planning approval stage. You will be given full flexibility to make autonomous decisions that allow you to meet deadlines.

Key duties will include:

  • Assessment of potential developments, including site visits with the appropriate members of the management team to ensure the product is suitable for the land (or vice versa).
  • Produce sketch scheme layouts for Land Appraisals and where appropriate manage preferred consultants for the preparation of sketch schemes.
  • Responsibility for the production of CAD Site Layouts within the region, with an emphasis on standardisation of design and presentation style and quality.
  • Produce and submit Planning Applications and Planning/Building Regulation Applications and obtain planning permissions and other statutory approvals.
  • Provide support to the Design Manager on key design principles throughout the duration of projects.
  • Provide Technical support and information to the Construction, Commercial and Sales Departments and maintain good communication to ensure the required level of service is maintained.
  • Prepare Sales and Legal information, e.g. conveyance plans, sales area layout drawings and M colours.

Profile

This opportunity is perfect for a Layout Designer who's looking to take the next step in their career. . You will ideally have worked on Residential layouts for a minimum of 3years and are familiar well versed in maximising a site's potential whilst considering its limitations.

You will have excellent communication and organisation skills and enjoy working with multiple stakeholders throughout the process. Who they're really after is someone innovative and curious, who likes to understand, challenge and maximise a scheme's potential. Key qualities also include teamwork, organisation, communication, design making and problem solving.
