Serve Talent are proud to have partnered with a successful manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a Operations Director for their facility based in Diss, Norfolk.

Reporting into the Managing Director and working alongside the wider Operations team, you'll lead and direct the Manufacturing and Operations departments ensuring that the appropriate resources are in place to achieve the financial and business objectives. You'll also be responsible for delivering a robust lean manufacturing based approach and championing the companies continuous improvement performance.

Ultimately you'll be tasked to inspire, motivate and lead a dedicated team to deliver world class operation facility in the area of cost, service, quality and working capital.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Organise and direct a world-class manufacturing effort that optimises facility utilisation, applies state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques, efficiently manage materials and logistics and meet the high standards of the industry and customers.
  • Lead the lean transformation and drive continuous improvement efforts using CBS tools.
  • Examine and challenge existing operation methods, budget spending, labour efficiency, material efficiency, engineering effectiveness, customer service and order entry efficiency along with personnel utilisation.
  • Play an active role in strategic and operational planning and orchestrate all production, industrial engineering and plant engineering plans and projects aimed at ensuring that the business meets product demand, at the lowest cost and on-time.
  • Work to a number of KPI's including: Manufacturing cost, Service levels, Working capital, Employee motivation, EHS & Quality.

Ideally you'll have:
  • A degree or HND in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Production Engineering etc.)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or any other relevant Lean manufacturing qualifcation
  • A background in manufacturing - preferably high volume and/or high variety.
  • MBA preferable
  • KANBAN, PFEP or similar training.
