Interim Head of Finance

Reporting to the Corporate Services Director, the Interim Head of Finance will lead and manage the Finance department (currently 13 posts) in support of the strategic and financial objectives of The National Archives through the operation of a first-class Finance Department.

The National Archives is home to 1000 years of our nation’s histories, from the Domesday Book to Downing Street tweets, our vast collection of archival treasures is as varied as it is inspiring. As the living, growing home of our national story, our obligation is to connect with the biggest and most diverse audience possible, in the most innovative ways we can.

We are seeking someone that would relish the chance to play a key role in ongoing transformation and want to impact strategy during the project.

You will need to be a strong ‘all-rounder’ – with a proven track record overseeing both the financial accounts and the FP&A areas for a relevantly complex organisation. It will be helpful if you possess strong investment appraisal skills and have experience of both working in the government sector and supporting ERP implementations.
