The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is responsible for maintaining the registration and licensing of drivers in Great Britain as well as maintaining the registration and licensing of vehicles, together with the collection and enforcement of VED, in the UK.  Based in Swansea, they hold more than 49 million driver records, around 40 million vehicle records and collect around £7 billion a year in vehicle excise duty (VED).  Opened for business 50 years ago after taking over responsibility from the local authorities, they are one of the largest employers in South Wales with over 5,000 staff. This is an exciting time to join the DVLA and an opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role as it continues to modernise and transform, ensuring it continues to provide excellent services to our nation.

We are delighted to be working with the DVLA to appoint their new Head of Group Operations who will lead key operational teams to deliver excellent customer service as well as setting the direction and driving the delivery of Operational and Customer Services Directorate’s targets and KPIs.  As a confident and collaborative delivery professional, you will have large scale operational leadership experience in a fast-paced environment and a successful track record of leading a comparable size business through structural and cultural change.   An authentic and visible leader, you will have the ability to further drive a dynamic and inclusive workplace, which encourages others to flourish and develop in an environment of continuous improvement.
