Head of Field Services

Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Edinburgh to recruit for a Head of Field Services in the Public Sector on a temporary basis for 6 months with potential extension.

Day rate: £450 - £500 (Inside IR35)
This role is currently based remotely.

Main Duties:
  • Lead and manage Field Service operations including enumeration, field force, mobile workforce management, print, logistics, and paper capture, and non-compliance.
  • Work strategically and collaboratively across the programme, taking a multi-disciplinary approach, to ensure successful planning, preparation and delivery of the business design for live operations.
  • Ensure lessons are learned and implemented from ONS, NISRA, and other International Forum countries.
  • Lead and manage Field Service operations - across all functions - during live, including working collaboratively through governance forums to monitor progress, review escalated incidents, make operational and tactical decisions, implement appropriate responses, and present escalated decisions and updates to senior management.
  • During 'live', work collaboratively with other Collect & Operate functions (Public Assistance, Communications & Engagement, and Support & Planning) as well as DPS & Outputs, Service Delivery, and PMO to ensure the delivery of successful outputs.
  • Participate in and provide input to key governance forums.
  • Be prepared to identify, report, monitor, and resolve issues and incidents as part of the Incident Management process.
  • Lead the evaluation of Field Service operations and recommendations for future censuses.
  • Directly line manage the Field Force, Field Force Training, Enumeration, and Non-Compliance leads.
Essential:
  • A successful and demonstrable track record of operational delivery of challenging projects, nationwide logistical events, or programmes of similar scale, complexity, and nature.
  • Proven experience of operational leadership to include as a minimum appropriate governance arrangements, provision of management information, risk management, issue resolution, business continuity and incident management.
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills. Experience of having led complex business operations to meet agreed quality and cost targets.
  • Delivery of operations with high profile security and information assurance requirements or experience of managing operations for a large scale data collection or survey organisation or programme.
  • Ability to collate and analyse different forms of information to provide recommendations and inform decision making.
  • Flexible approach to work with the ability to prioritise and manage a team and a varied workload under pressure.
Candidates are required to have a Basic Disclosure Scotland Certificate
