Crisis
Chief Executive

£135,000
London and travel

At Crisis, we believe that homelessness should not exist in 21st Century Great Britain. Tackling this injustice is what motivates our people. Ending homelessness is what underpins everything we do.

The charity has grown rapidly in terms of both scale and impact over recent years and is planning for a turnover of £70m in the coming year. Our aim is to be no longer required when homelessness is ended. It may take time while some of the key policies that cause and perpetuate homelessness are addressed, but it is beginning to look possible. We are now looking for a new Chief Executive who will oversee our work to ensure ending homelessness becomes inevitable.

In word, spirit and deed, Crisis is a values-led organisation, bringing together staff, volunteers, our members, and many partners and allies around 6 values: Inspiration, Integrity through knowledge, Dignity, Fearlessness through independence, Adaptability, and Resolve to end homelessness. Our next Chief Executive will continue to lead the charity with clarity, integrity, and generosity, as focused on staff engagement, wellbeing, and diversity as they are on performance, service impact and finance. A strong record of embedding lived experiences into everything the organisation says and does is critical.

Broad and complex in scope, this is a challenging, difficult, and highly rewarding role. You will have to balance key elements of fundraising, policy influence, and service delivery and development and be able to demonstrate proven success in at least two of these areas. Ideally you will have oversight of at least £20m voluntary income and experience of effective and authentic engagement with cross-party political leaders, business leaders, staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

You need to be committed to our values, to social justice, and to our mission to end homelessness. We are looking for an inclusive and inspirational leader with the strategic and people skills to help us achieve our ambitious plans.
