  • Work on some of the biggest productions with some of the biggest names in the business.

Client Details

My client is a multi-award-winning talent management (including many Baftas & Emmys), television production and live promotion group with offices in London, Los Angeles and New York.

They represent a prolific roster of artists including comedians, actors, presenters, writers and directors and have numerous ground-breaking returning television shows currently in production and multiple comedy specials for Amazon, Prime Video, HBO Max and Netflix.

My client also distributes its catalogue of programmes to over 150 countries worldwide and have produced many globally successful podcasts, topping of the UK iTunes chart.

Description

  • To be the lead lawyer working across all facets of the factual & factual entertainment television business and you will be expected to look after the slate independently and with a high degree of autonomy in collaboration with the senior management team of that business;
  • Whilst this role will be focused on factual and factual entertainment television development, financing and production - all members of the legal & business affairs team work across a wide range of matters in support of all the my client's businesses (as further described below) providing everyone on the team with the opportunity to expand their areas of expertise and benefit from working on a variety of different projects;
  • To provide legal and business affairs support and advice across all group companies in the UK, including: television production, distribution, live tours, theatre, talent management, and the corporate businesses;
  • To closely and proactively collaborate with all departments, including Development, Distribution, Talent Management, Publicity, Finance, Corporate, Digital & Marketing, Press and Production;
  • To provide legal and business affairs support in a timely and accurate manner, always taking into account business priorities and strategies.

Profile

  • A sound working knowledge of the various broadcaster terms of trade;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to grow and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally;
  • Pro-active business orientated approach;
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of legal matters at once;
  • Effective negotiator;
  • Expertise in all areas of programme compliance;
  • Experience producing and/or reviewing production protocols;
  • Passion for unscripted content.
