An exciting opportunity to support a PE backed residential lettings company through a period of change and continued growth.

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director and working closely with the executive team, this role will take responsibility for Financial Reporting, Statutory Accounts, Board Reporting, Treasury, Balance Sheet Control, Cash Forecasting as well as project work as required.

The assignment is to start ASAP and will be for an initial six month term. It is based in the Manchester area and require a mix of office and remote working.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead and manage the finance function and team
  • Reporting and forecasting
    • Manage and be responsible for all internal financial reporting requirements
    • Oversee the production of group management accounts including review for accuracy
    • Providing variance analysis and reconciling to Group forecast
    • Work jointly with the FD and key stake holders to prepare the Group Forecast, including analysing key assumptions
    • Pro-actively review management KPI's and make appropriate observations/ recommendations
    • Co-ordinate and produce the board reports
  • Funding, Valuations & cash management
    • Track & coordinate the valuations for all assets held including annual review
    • Prepare draft reports to funders and covenants for the FD to review
    • Prepare the draft monthly funding packs for drawdown for FD review
    • Oversee and review the cashflow management
    • Management of the overall cash of the company including good cost control and ensuring that operational cash is ringfenced
  • Other
    • Responsible for group insurance including reporting and co-ordinate renewals
    • Review PCD reconciliations and support team to understand any variances
    • Implement and oversee the cost controls of the business
    • Responsible for Group Payroll & P11D returns
    • Identify any areas of deficiency, with a view to continuously improving the effectiveness of the finance department.
    • Assist the FD on ad hoc projects
  • Taxation & filing
    • Assist the FD with tax planning and ensure implementation and compliance
    • Ensuring that all external filing for taxation is done so accurately and on time
    • Ensure Companies House is kept up to date for the group

Required skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA / CIMA - with a strong financial accounting background and strong technical accounting experience
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Experience of managing and developing a Finance function
  • Experience of working with a PE fund is desirable
  • Previous experience of working for a residential or similar property/housing organisation will be an advantage

This assignment is Outside IR35.
