A senior project manager to lead the build and start up of an automated multi channel distribution centre. 2 year Fixed term contract

Client Details

Global brand who have continued to grow and develop over the last 18 months. Due to the continued growth they are looking to increase the capacity and capability of their distribution network by building a start of the art automated distribution centre.

Description

This position is a 2 year fixed term contract to lead the build and fit-out of an ambitious automated distribution centre from concept through to operational readiness.

The Senior Project manager will lead, manage and deliver Distribution Centre & Supply Chain projects/programs (£15million+) across brands and respective functions within the boundaries of time, cost & quality while focusing on customers expectations and requirements. As part of the project community you will support and nurture members of the team in delivering exceptional results.

The senior project manager will guide and manage stakeholders and suppliers through the stages of the programme while highlighting and mitigating risks to deliver the programme on time and to expectations.

Profile

The successful Senior Project manager will have

  • Prior experience of Automated warehouse start ups and working with different automation providers
  • Ability to provide a clear framework for performance to direct reports/project team.
  • Ability to coach, guide and manage a (project)team.
  • Pro-active (engaging & impact-oriented) mindset
  • Ability to be self-directed while working under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures.
  • Business mindset with good numerical and analytical skills, experience in budget management, process driven
  • Track record of managing complex logistics projects.
  • Ability work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Good market know how on 3 PL Transport-/ Warehouse Provider and related networks.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills from Shop floor to board level
  • MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) MS Project skills are advantageous.
  • Prince2, PMQ, PMI or similar project management qualifications are preferred

Job Offer

This a 2 year fixed term contract with a negotiable basic salary A good package including car allowance, bonus, staff discounts, private healthcare.

There may be a possibility of an extension or permanent position however this will depend on the future project portfolio. Initially the fixed term will cover the period of delivery and fit out of the new site.
